Dr. Usama Syed is a physician-scientist and Founder & CEO of Stratum (https://www.heystratum.com). He completed his medical training at Imperial College London in the UK, where he was awarded the Student Award for Outstanding Achievement and graduated with Honors, before moving to the US to pursue specialty training in dermatology. He carried out residency training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York under the tutelage of world leaders in complex dermatological conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and severe acne.
Dr. Syed also has a key interest in cosmetic dermatology, having authored book chapters on the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for hair loss, and also the safe use of injectable fillers for facial rejuvenation. Alongside his interest in medical/cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Syed has been an active participant in the healthtech field. He has produced a dermatology education app to teach medical students/doctors skincare diagnostics, and also has an active presence across social media platforms where he produces informational content on skincare/ skin disease.
